This Privacy Policy explains how ThingsVU ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our multi-tenant IoT cloud platform (the "Service"), including our website, dashboards, and APIs. It covers both account holders ("you," "users") and the device telemetry processed on their behalf.

3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including ingesting and displaying telemetry and delivering OTA updates;
- To authenticate users and devices and enforce tenant isolation;
- To monitor performance, diagnose issues, and improve reliability and security;
- To communicate with you about the Service, including updates, security notices, and support;
- To process payments and manage billing, where applicable;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing), under contractual confidentiality obligations;
- Other users of your tenant, to the extent your organization's administrators grant them access;
- Legal and safety authorities, when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ThingsVU, our users, or the public;
- A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.
5. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Telemetry data is retained according to the retention settings of your tenant or plan; you can request deletion of your tenant's data subject to any legal retention requirements.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) for all connections, including MQTT brokers, and hashing of stored credentials. Access to production systems is restricted and tenant data is logically isolated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International data transfers
Depending on where you and our infrastructure providers are located, your information may be processed in a country other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@thingsvu.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Cookies
We use session cookies necessary to keep you signed in to the web application. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent the Service from functioning.

The Service is intended for business and developer use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or an in-product notice) before they take effect.
